The tensioning system also allows for the recovery of cables which may have been loosened during system operation.
The maximum stroke of the cylinder is approx. 3m, a value which varies depending on the size of the system, whilst the cylinder has a bore of approximately 180 mm and a stem with a diameter of 100 mm.
The role of the tensioning control unit is to maintain the correct tensioning of the lift cables by activating the fluid power cylinder located either on top of or below the system.
The fluid power control unit of the tensioning system has been built to supply oil in a range of pressures between 80 and 220 bar, in order for the cylinder to operate with a force of up to 300 kN. The fluid capacity varies between 8 and 30 litres/min, depending on the type of pump used.
The car brake control unit is mounted on the car suspension, and its role is to activate the brakes in the carriage which connects the car to the cable. This type of control unit must guarantee very fast response times in order to guarantee the immediate activation of the brakes, supplying fluid at up to 280 bar with a modest capacity.
The fluid power control unit which controls the emergency and service brakes, located on the cableway transmission winches, must be high performing in terms of response times.
